If a unicorn turned up at the front door of your treehouse, what would you do?

Because, on a day full of rainbows, that is exactly what happened to the little girl in this charming story!  And so she does what we would all do - tries to find it a new home.  But nowhere seems to be a very good fit for this special creature,  It didn't fit in to any of the homes in the pet shop; the food at the farm was not to its taste; the unicorns at the funfair just went round and round and didn't even stop to say  hello... Perhaps the fairytale castle is the answer.

Or maybe the young reader has their own idea to contribute and using the lift-the-flap format as a model, can create their own suggestion,

Stories about unicorns remain popular particularly with young girls and this is one that will engage them well beyond that first sharing as they think about what they already know about unicorns, their habits and habitats to be able to determine just where would be the best home where all its needs could be met.  They might even have to do some research using titles like The Secret Unicorn Club or The Secret Lives of Unicorns,  as they realise that there is always more to know and discover before final decisions can be made.

This is a magical story of friendship that focuses on wanting things to be just right for the unicorn even if that means having to put their needs before you own.
