In the walled city of Jerusalem two boys have found a cat, a fluffy white cat. It's a little miracle in both of their lives. Neither one of them knows that the other cares for the cat because you see, one boy, Avi, lives in the Jewish Quarter and the other boy, Hamudi lives in the Muslim Quarter. They have never met and their people are enemies.
Each boy loves to put down some food and watch the cat happily eat it up. For each it's just so wonderful to take care of such a warm and loving creature.
The cat runs off one day and leads the boys to find each other. Can two such different boys share something so basic as a cat? If they can share the love and the care of a cat, what else might they be able to share? The book offers a thought provoking tale which could begin great discussions about prejudice and similarities. These boys found out they shared more things the same about them than they ever imagined.

***********
Avi and Hamudi are two boys who live in Jerusalem's Old City―Avi in the Jewish Quarter and Hamudi in the Muslim Quarter. To each boy, the other's neighborhood is an alien land. And although neither boy knows it, both are caring for the same beautiful white stray cat. One day the boys follow the cat as she travels the winding streets and crosses the boundaries between the city’s quarters. And on this journey something wonderful happens, as unexpected as a snowfall in Jerusalem.---from the publisher
