Sixth grade was a rough year for Kate because her best friend, Marylin, teamed up with a girl named Flannery to ignore Kate for the entire year. But, seventh grade is a whole new chance to fix their friendship. Kate decides she's going to play the guitar and have her own personal style. Marylin is a cheerleader and has joined the popular kids. As the year goes by, Kate joins a Creative Writing Course and meets a pretty cool guy. He tells her that life gets easier when you find your tribe, but, for Kate, you have to figure out yourself first.
