Once he found the potter's wheel, George Ohr said, "I felt it all over like a duck in water." This biography of an artist in search of his art is truly astonishing and life- affirming. Ohr overcomes every kind of obstacle in his path, and although he dies unrecognized, his pottery survives even Hurricane Katrina to bask in a Frank Gehry designed museum. Kudos to authors Greenberg and Jordan for wrestling this larger than life creative genius on paper, complete with his sparkling 'mud babies' potted with his own children. Fabulous photographs, end matter encouraging reader to 'boss' your own pot.
