Henry Forester is a 19 year old Army veteran who has been released before the end of World War II due to the injuries he sustained while parachuting into Europe. He cannot forget the people who helped him escape from the Gestapo and who may still be in danger. Although this book is a sequel to “Under a War Torn Sky,” one can easily follow the plot as Henry chooses to return to occupied Europe in April, 1945 to find his friends and make a difference in their lives. Beautifully written, this is a realistic depiction of what life must have been like for the civilians who were also casualties of war. 304 pages Ages 11 and up
