A grandmother and her grandchild are separated by thousands of miles but connected nonetheless by shared memories and great love and they always, always are looking up at the same moon in the night sky. The story alternates between grandmother's thoughts of her world with its dogs and wooly socks and quilt blankets and what she knows of the world of her grandchild with its fish eagle and monkey-stealing bananas and its mosquito netting. Frame by frame we feel the connection between the two and frame by frame we listen to her voice as we watch her pack her things and fly through the air carrying a lovely green mysterious package to the child she loves. Each page reveals how close the child is to her in her heart, mind and memories and each page carries us a step closer until she finally enfolds that beloved child in her arms. There, under the moon, their worlds become one. A lovely story about family, connection and those amazing bonds of love.
