Who Will Plant a Tree? is a book that follows a pattern after the initial page asks the title question. On the left-hand page is an animal in nature. On the right-hand page, the inadvertent actions of the animal (such as burying an acorn or shaking a cherry seed out of its tail) lead to the planting of a tree.
In one of the final spreads, school children are shown planting seedlings after a teacher gives a lesson on trees. The text is simple and the illustrations of animals in their environs are richly detailed. This would be a good selection for Earth Day and similar environmental and life science lessons.
