Umbrella Summer by Lisa Graff is about a girl named Annie Richards. Her brother died of a rare heart disease. after he got hit with a hockey puck in the chest. Annie is super careful about lots of things. For example, she puts on all of the safety gear in the world to ride her bike down the street. Then she steals a medical book. A new neighbor moves in, and Annie becomes friends with her. Things are not going well with her best friend Rebecca.. Her new neighbor tells her to open her umbrella of sadness. Will Annie not be sad and will she and Rebecca be friend again.? Read Umbrella Summer to find out.

Umbrella Summer is an amazing book that everyone should read. It tells you not to be sad about what happened, and to be happy about what is going on in the world right now. This book was very good, and I couldn’t put it down.
