The master of the interactive book for young children is beyond a doubt, Hervé Tullet who started his series with the fabulous PRESS HERE. How many children have have opened the book to discover they have suddenly gotten magical powers? When they use their magical fingers on the book, magical things happen... usually on the next page. (A real pageturner.)
There's another author who also does this well, Christie Matheson. Her TAP THE MAGIC TREE, is one of her best known stories.
Now, along comes Tom Fletcher with his series of interactive books that invite our reluctant listeners -who would much rather be doing something than reading about it - to open a book and have a big surprise. This is not one of those stories they have to sit and listen to. Nope, they are in the power seat here - if they choose to draw a fence or shake the book, this book will answer back with just what they asked for.
This time it's Easter and there is a wily bunny on the loose - apparently so hungry - this bunny will even eat a hole in the book. No way!!! So, turn the pages and see if you can catch that rascally wabbit.
See? Reading can be fun!
