The Popularity Papers: Research for the Social Improvement and General Betterment of Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang

Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham Chang have decided to study popular girls to figure out why they are so popular. What makes them special? Armed with their journal to keep a record of their findings, they begin their study. First they notice the blonde streak in Gretchen's hair and decide to "doo de doo doo" use Mom's bleach to give Lydia her own streak. She gets one all right - only she's bald.

Well, maybe starring in the school musical is a good avenue to popularity. It works for Jane. Lydia practices her song for the try outs but when audition day arrives, four other girls sing her song before she gets a chance and all she can remember is "when You Want that um yum yummy feel, come to the Kingdooom! Mattress Kingdom." They are about to learn a lot about being yourself and fitting in. Written as journal entries this is highly entertaining.
