Secrets at Sea

In a grand home in the Hudson River Valley life is about to take a great leap forward for both the Upstairs Cranstons and the Downstairs Cranstons. Day after day of Mrs. Cranston, Olive and Camilla sitting politely on their settee in their second best clothes hoping for a visitor and best of all a suitor or two has left them only with long quiet afternoons. So a Mrs. Minturn has been brought in to advise and the family is heading to Europe by ship in search of a "good match" for the Olive. These are the Upstairs Cranstons. The Downstairs Cranstons get the word almost instantly and they know instantly that their lives are about to be filled with adventure because their lives are entwined with the lives of the Upstairs Cranstons and have been for centuries. They are the mice who have inhabited this house for generations. Meet Lamont who has already lost part of his tail, Helena who tells us the story, Beatrice who sits on Camille's bed every evening to offer friendship and the Duchess who holds court aboard ship directing the mouse family Cranstons that it is up to them to make this mission successful. Romance shall flourish. Humor will twinkle. Breaths will be held. Get ready to make a warm place in your own heart and your own imagination for this playful and lovable story that sparkles with moments of pure delight, courage of course, and happy endings! What more would you expect from the one and only Richard Peck?
