Twin polar bear cubs were found orphaned in Northern Alaska, and the wildlife biologists knew they needed a home to survive. So the cubs took the ride of their lives and moved to the San Diego Zoo.
Kalluk (means thunder) and Tatqiq (means moon) had each other as they adjusted to this new zoo world. There are wonderful photographs documenting their lives as they grew up.
They are now “intelligent and capable” bears developing in their man-made environment .As they adapt, we learn that we need to provide a safe habitat for polar bears throughout the natural world as well.
