Pablo loved words as a child and he discovered the magic between the pages of books. The book described Pablo's childhood activities and shared his desire to be a writer as an adult. When he became a writer, he changed his name, used green ink to write and decided to use poetry as his style of writing. His poem topics were about things he loved, opposites, the sea and children. As an adult writer, he was fascinated with people, honored people who worked for freedom and became the poet of his people. He escaped from Chile when the government wanted him to stop writing, but he continued to tell the true story of Chile to the world. In the author's note there were additional life facts and appreciation of his role as a poet in the world of literature.
