Some days we're searching through our bookshelves to find a great read aloud to share with a class.

You want something different...something fun!  You probably wouldn't guess by "judging a book by its cover" that this book would be just the right thing. But it has something for everyone and that's tough to do.

The opening spread catches the eye in an "Oh. wow" kind of thing. You're looking at the gigantic feet of an elephant - really close up - and hanging out by a toenail is a very, very small creature. It's awesome. Jokesters will laugh.  Teamplayers will enjoy the connection between the two animals, Champions will love the larger than life element and the Investigators will wonder if it's real and want to know more.

"Get ready to meet some of the world' most amazing mammals."  The book will show them at their actual size.  Ever heard of a southern lesser galago?  Me either.  There are some facts about them  - you can probably paraphase for the young ones but then Melissa Stewart asks the all-important question that will drive the energy and the curiosity for the rest of the book.

"Is this fluffy furball the mini-est mammal of all?  Ah ha!!!

With each turn of the page we meet a new little dude sometimes referred to as "mischievous munchkins" as we watch tails disappear off the page.  These teenies get smaller and smaller as we head to big finish.  There 's a map of the continents at the back of the book that shows where each mini-mammal lives on our planet.  For the Investigators there is delightful page of Stats about each mammal we've met.

A playful, informative book that takes us around the world and invites us to meet some adorable little mammals.
