Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse

Lilly is a mouse of big plans. She is going to be a teacher when she grows up. A huge part of the reason for her career aspirations is her teacher, Mr. Slinger. Lilly really, really likes Mr. Slinger who is one cool guy.

One day Lilly goes shopping with her grandmother and comes home with a spectacular purse and some extremely fashionable sunglasses. The next day at school Lilly has a tough time waiting for Sharing Time. That purse and those glasses are too good to hide in her desk one more minute.

So, even though it's storytime and not sharing time, Lilly shares in a big, big way and her teacher is not happy. Mr. Slinger confiscates the good stuff and leaves Lilly having to deal with some enormous hard feelings.

This is a delightful, insightful look at how it feels when you or a mouse with a purple plastic purse, lose sight of anything and anyone but yourself and your feelings. Lilly gets mad. Lilly draws a picture. Lilly has to apologize. A heartfelt tale that could have popped out of the life of just about anyone.
