Leon and the Spitting Image

Leon is in the fourth grade and is determined to survive against his strange teacher, Miss Hagmeyer, who loves to sew, and his enemy, Lumpkin the Pumpkin. Miss Hagmeyer insists on teaching from "The Heavenly Stitches of Virtue" school of thought and makes every student sew a "Master Piece" for the end of the year. What defense does a fourth grader have against such mighty foes? Well, in Leon's case, try a spitting image of his teacher? If he raises its leg up, her leg goes...? Then a food fight in the cafeteria. And the winner is.... Readers will identify with Leon and will thoroughly enjoy his unique and creative solution to his problems. Leon and the Champion Chip is the sequel to this hilarious story. Ages 9-11

This is a fun book about a young boy who is desperately trying to survive 4th grade and all the weird happenings, especially with the eyeballs. While it appeals to young boys with eyeballs, animals, evil icemakers, and spit, I found it to be a fun read and she may like it too.
