Oh how enchanting...how cute... how heartwarming!  And FUNNY!  This is a great read aloud for the 3-6 crowd.

Meet Oscar who is "half-a-dog tall and one-and-a-half dogs long."  He's a dachshund otherwise referred to by the other dogs as "Wiener Dog!"  Yes, they are name callers and they make fun of Oscar all the time.  (Already thinking about the bun?)

The faces and caricatures of the bullies are laugh-inducing.  Playful.  Fun.  Kids will get it.

It only gets worse that his own mother send shim off to school every morning with a fond, "Farewell, my little Vienna sausage."

So Halloween arrives and Oscar has big plans for his scary costume to be.

This is the everydog story, the everyman story, the everykid story about an underdog (so sorry but couldn't resist) whose inner stuffing shines brightly.  He just needs the right moment, the right opportunity to show his stuff.

This is a book about bullying and about accepting others.  This is a hilarious book about a loveable character who lives in a mean world many children will recognize instantly.

Read this one aloud to 3-7 year olds.  32 pages   978-0590417037
