Friend for Sam

Sam is a black and white puppy with a smile on her face who is looking for a friend. She has been let out the door to play but it's really no fun by herself. Her world is one of flowers, fences and frogs but that smiling frog hops away and Sam decides to dig under the fence and go off to see the world and find the new friend she needs. The parade of possibilities skitters by with no luck.

A bit of suspense and perhaps discomfort appears when a snake crawls by and Sam thinks that is not the friend for me. Happily though two eyes look through a fence at her and life is good. She has found the perfect friend...a little boy with an ice cream cone.

This is a series of books for a child who can read words like squeezed and garbage and squirrel. Warm and fairly even keel. 32 pages Kids Can Read series Ages 4-7
