If you are looking for a simple picture book that describes divorce from the perspective of a young child, here is a good one. Fred, of the title, is a dog and this is the story of a child who lives with both parents and so moves from one house to another. The wonderful, reassuring constant in her life is Fred, her dog who is uproariously gets into trouble regularly but who steadfastly never leaves her. Tricia Tusa infuses the pages with a sense of normalcy and security and even playfulness. A nice pick for a child who may be facing life as a child of divorce and needs to know things can still be just right.
