The third and final book in The Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy starts with a murder and continues to shock and surprise the entire length of the book. Told in alternating chapters by Grace, Sam, Cole and Isabel, Forever manages to wrap up all the loose ends without being trite or falling into the trap of “happily ever after.” At the end of Linger, Grace turned into a werewolf. In Forever, she is still a werewolf trying to contact Sam, but she shifts too fast to wait for him. Sam, a “cured” wolf is trying to save her and his adopted family from extermination. Cole has made it his personal mission to save the wolf pack, but his methods may kill him. Isabel is simply trying to save herself from misery and grief.
Part love story, part survival story, Forever is a completely satisfying ending to this paranormal series. Recommendation – Most readers who discovered this trilogy when Shiver was published will have already finished Forever by now. I don’t recommend Forever as a stand alone title, but is a very satisfying end to the trilogy. In my opinion, this is the best werewolf paranormal series out there. Ages 14 and up 395 pages
