There is a larger than life quality to this series of books that offers an adventure and a respect for children that is so important for picture books today. It's as though the lens of life does a close-up that enlarges everything so we can see it as being important and amazing. When you see things from the point of view of a mouse, I guess they do look larger but the feeling goes well beyond that.
This is the land of the Investigator reader for sure.
