Brief Thief

Leon the lizard is in a real pickle when he runs out of toilet paper. What’s a lizard to do when he has to poo? Luckily for him (or so he thinks!), Leon spies a discarded pair of holey red underpants in the tree nearby. Voila! Impromptu toilet paper!

The plot thickens when Leon hears a voice cautioning him against taking something that doesn’t belong to him. Cleverly mixed in with the giggle-worthy potty humor is a lesson about consciences and making good decisions even if no one is watching. Leon’s plight and the delightful twist ending will have little listeners (and probably their grown-up readers) laughing hysterically.

The Brief Thief is great for reluctant readers, especially boys, and it just might teach them a lesson as well as entertain them.

*********

Witty, humorous illustrations of great charm tell this story of conscience and mistaken identity as thoroughly as the book's delightful text. Here a lizard takes the liberty of using what seem to be some old underpants when he runs out of toilet paper. What he doesn't count on is that his own conscience and an outraged rabbit will be watching.---from the publisher
