A dog born to ride the rails showed up at a railroad station in Australia back in 1884. Railroad Guard Ferry who spotted him named him Bob. One day Guard Ferry called to Bob to join him aboard the train and off he went.
You would probably imagine that Guard Ferry and Bob covered a lot of Australia together. But Bob was his own dog. He would hop on one train going north and then catch another one going south. He became known from station to station and his railroad adventures stitched him a place in the early years as Australian train tracks were laid and stretched to connect the far corners of the continent.
