How many times have I read this book out loud at story time and watch the kids catch on with delight and everyone ending up laughing at the end? Countless times.
George, a young dog, seems to have a problem He can't bark. Nope. No barking. He can meow but he can't bark. His mother decides to take him to the doctor to get some help with this ailment. Now the fun really beings. The doctor reaches way down into George and pulls out .... well pulls out something which makes George do something. Then the doctor reaches even deeper and pulls out something else...which makes George do something else.
This is a grand picture book that is made to be read aloud to generations of children and their lucky parents. A surprise twist at the end is the cherry, the whipped cream and the nuts on top of the sundae.
