When the car crashes on the icy roads, Mom and Emily survive but Dad is lost. Two years later, Emily, her brother, Navin, and Mom move into the great grandfather's old home. They are eager to explore and get settled but Emily hears a voice telling her they are in danger.

Exploring her grandfather's library, Emily discovers a mysterious amulet that has been in the family for years.  What can the amulet do?  Does it have magical powers?  Emily and Navin will need to find out soon because deep in the basement Mom is kidnapped by a frightening octopus-like creature.

Someone wants the amulet.  Someone took Mom.  Dad is dead.  Navin and Emily have to find their way through uncharted and dangerous territory.  Is there anyone who can help them challenge the darkness?

This is an eerie adventure done crisply as a graphic novel.

this book is a cool book about an Amulet that a girl finds at a house that people in the city call "haunted". and as they were asleep Emily (the daughter in the family) heard a noise downstairs, and got her family up...
