This is a gritty story of a young man named Dillon Hemingway who is training for the Ironman Triathalon, as he struggles with the feelings about his brother Preston's suicide. Those are some pretty tough feelings to deal with and along the way he finds a new relationship with his brother's old girlfriend and learns that many people are dealing with incredibly difficult issues as they grow up. This is another of Chris Crutcher's sensitive, empathetic, empowering books for young people. They mirror the harsh reality that has been handed to some of our kids and offer hope and compassion.
