Big Adventure of the Smalls

Paul and Sally Small are being put to bed, just as The Small Hall Grand Ball begins downstairs in Small Hall’s largest ballroom. Mum and Dad are dressed in fancy clothes, the orchestra is warming up, and two smallest Small children just have to creep out of bed to peep through the stair rails as the guests arrive in their finery.

But Paul’s teddy bear falls through the rails! Somehow, the brother and sister must get down to the ballroom and rescue Mr. Puddles before anyone at the ball notices them.

Quick, sliding down the banister, shimmying up a suit of armor to scan the crowd, Sally and Paul can’t see Mr. Puddles! Hurrying through a secret passageway, they find themselves in the middle of the banquet table and must rush away to hide behind the flower vases.

Where can Mr. Puddles be? Surely they can find the teddy bear and get upstairs before anyone spies them…

Read-to-me listeners will enjoy spotting the inventive pair’s many hiding places throughout the Small Hall Grand Ball, including double fold-out pages that look just like the banquet hall doors and the speedy family dog.
