You Belong Here

This beautiful book by M.H. Clark is a wonderfully reassuring message to children about belonging. It is wonderfully illustrated by Isabelle Arsenault and features passages like the following: "The stars belong in the deep night sky, and the moon belongs there too, and the winds belong in each place they blow by, and I belong here with you." It is a nice choice for bedtime, as it takes you on a journey of imagination around the world, looking at plants and animals everywhere, and reminding children that just like everything in this world, they have a special place where they belong, and it is right where they are.
