One wonderful afternoon the mailman delivered a package for Yoko from her granny or obaasan and grandpa, ojiisan, in Japan. It was a special doll to celebrate Girls' Day. Yoko was so excited and decided to take her new doll to school for show and tell. Her mother, using her BIG No voice, told Yoko it would not be a good idea to take her doll to school. But Yoko took her doll, Miki, to school anyway and that is where she learned a big lesson about listening to her mother's wisdom. Sometimes when you make a mistake, it teaches you many things about yourself and even about those around you. This special group of little cats offers a hint of the exotic along with a thread of the bonds we share no matter who we are or where we are in the world. Ages 4-8 40 pages
