Meet the Pygg brothers: James, Marvin and Lester. They might remind you of some other pigs you've read about but no, these are the PYGG brothers. When we meet them, they are working together, more or less, to build a house of brick. I know, I know it sounds familiar and yes, James is telling the other two that they need a brick house for safety and warmth and yes the other two want to just get it done and use something easier like hay or sticks. Now biggest surprise of all is that a wolf shows up at their door and demands to be let in or he's going to, well, you know, huff and puff and all that. But, remember, I told you already these are the PYGG brothers,not those other guys. So, in this story, the wolf, hereafter known by his name, Wilfong, decides to hang around and see what happens next. Inside the house the Pygg's start to play hide and seek and Wilfong looks in the window and cheats and tells where Lester is hiding and when the Pygg's play cards, Wilfong tells what's in Marvin's hand. Not very nice at all. Winter rolls in and it gets pretty cold outside. Wilfong is turning blue until the Pygg's take pity on him and let him come in. Where the huffing and puffing didn't work at all, the being yourself thing has gotten him in the door. But, is he really trustworthy? This is a fun and entertaining early chapter book that just might hook some of those reluctant readers who are looking for twists and humor in their stories. 48 pages
