When Uno moves to the forest he loves, he is surrounded by wonderful imaginary plants and animals including one special animal called the Snortlepig. He makes his home there and starts a garden. Gradually as others move nearby, the plants and animals begin to disappear and all that remains are gray buildings and people. The Snortlepig is gone. This is a beautifully illustrated, rich book about the balance between development and conservation and shows children how important it is to protect our environment. Wonderful to read on Earth Day. 40 pages
