**************

If you know a toddler or a young child who has a best friend who just happens to be the pet in their house, and in this case a dog, then you know the magic of that connection.  Some children are lucky enough to grow up next to a dog.  These dogs think the baby is their own.  There is a wonderful protectiveness the dog feels for the young'un and the fun the two have together as the months and years stack up is some really special stuff.

This simple, rhyming book celebrates the wonder and the joy of that connection between child and dog.  What a reassuring read aloud for any preschool or kindergarten class...a deeply felt reminder that there are those who care about us and want to be with us and we get to share adventures and giggles and the wonder of having a good old time with another creature ..... even one with a tail and ten claws.
