How does a tornado form? What is the Fujita Tornado Scale? What is the difference between an F1 or an F5 tornado? Where is Tornado Alley and what would you do if a tornado was coming to your neighborhood? This is a book about the power of tornadoes done with illustrations rather than photographs. If you have a young reader who wants to understand tornadoes, this may be the best place to start. It gives you the sense of the destructive nature of the storms, but does not get graphic with the pictures. As always, Gail Gibbons offers children constructive information.
