Alan Katz began his hit parade with TAKE ME OUT OF THE BATHTUB and has worked his way up to this book which is filled with "Silly Dilly Songs About Parents." He has his usual good time skewering the parents to the tune of familiar songs. I think kids would know all of the songs except perhaps "The Sidewalks of New York." I'm not sure how many folks sing that one around the house these days. But, I digress. With pretty good rhyming accuracy, the songs take on parents on cell phones, streamlined bedtime stories, food only a parent could love, report cards and more. The illustrations are vintage David Catrow and have a hilarious quality without stooping too low with underwear, etc. I think kids will really enjoy singing the poems/songs. This could be fun for a car ride over spring break or on summer vacation. Great read aloud. 32 pages
