Tim and the Iceberg

Such a hot day at the beach… Tim and his grandfather try to cool off by talking about the cold places that Grandpa has visited, so cold that icicles froze in his beard!

Hearing about icebergs for the first time, Tim decides that he’ll just pilot his little sailboat north until he finds one to bring back as a surprise for Grandpa.

As he sails, the young boy discovers an offshore oil rig, many sea creatures, and a mountain of ice that must be an iceberg!

Can Tim get that huge iceberg all the way from the North Pole to their beach?

And Grandpa will be so surprised by the iceberg…

Haywood’s accurate paintings of the seabirds, whales, seals, and whales under the sea and atop its waves contrast winningly with the tiny toy sailboat that young Tim uses for his successful voyage in Coates’ charming tale for young listeners.
