Once upon a time there was a bird who could not fly. The bird wanted to be like the other birds. One night the wishingbird came and told the bird he could make a wish for whatever he wanted. The bird wished for a pair of golden wings. Magically, the wings appeared and happily the bird could fly like all the other birds. The other birds saw his golden wings and did not like him anymore. They accused him of wanting to be different and of thinking he's better than they are. This magical story explores the uniqueness and specialness of us all. Ages 5-9 32 pages
