An African American grandfather and his grandson are sharing time together. Written in a poetic verse style the words of the grandfather ring out. "These hands could tie a triple bowline knot in three seconds flat; could throw a curve ball; could do a waterfall shuffle." But these hands could not touch the dough in the Wonder Bread factory. These hands were also part of the Civil Rights movement so now when the grandson looks at his own hands he sees possibilities. One day he will throw a curve ball or tie a triple bowline knot...or anything else he wants to do. Now, thanks to the hands of his grandfather, these young hands can do anything. 32 pages Ages 5-9
