Twelve year old Andrej with his nine year old brother Tomas and infant sister Wilma flee from the Germans in WWII when their Romany encampment is bombed. They find refuge in a private zoo where the animals speak to them about freedom and the lives they used to lead. So many parallels to the lives of people in conflict today.
