According to this story, during World War II, the Jewish people of Denmark were ordered by the Naxis to wear a yellow star on their clothing. Legend has it that King of Denmark, King Christian X, struggled with how to deal with this inhumane command. Then, in keeping with his normal routine, he appeared in Copenhagen on horseback for his ride through the city and to everyone's amazement, he was wearing a yellow star as well. The message to his people was for them to join him in wearing the star in order to protect their Jewish neighbors.
