The wonderful Penderwick family returns. We pick up with them as Father is being encouraged to begin dating. The girls search for the right woman and then become very worried when Father appears to have found someone he prefers, someone unbeknownst to the family and, therefore, a threat. Her name is Marianne Dashwood. Meanwhile, Jane and Skye are finding themselves in a tangle of their own making; Batty keeps seeing and reporting the Bugman; Rosy is organizing the family to defend against Marianne, and the neighbor Ianthe provides support to all. Heartwarming.
