When Sara was a little girl, she visited her grandmother and was pounced, licked and knocked down by her dog. Now she has a secret: she's afraid of dogs. A new neighbor has moved in with two dogs. Sara crosses the street, hunts for fairies and creates other escapes so she does not have to go anywhere near to those scary dogs. The neighbor understands about Sara's fear. One day, Sara hears a cry from next door and has to set her fears aside to help Ms. Harrington who has fallen and hurt herself. Summoning her courage, she finds out how brave she can be and she becomes a hero. Ages 7-10 112 pages
