Once upon a time there was an elderly couple, Sam and Rose, who lived in a lighthouse by the sea. They were dedicated to their job of keeping ships safe in the dark and stormy weather. Sam and Rose had no children but they were never lonely because of the hundreds of seagulls who visited them every day. Then, one day a terribly fierce storm arose and crumbled the lighthouse. Sam and Rose moved to a new house that was not near the sea. They missed their seagull friends. This is an early story about friendship and loyalty and making a difference in the world. 32 pages Ages 4-7
