The Girls

The Girls

Maya is so excited. Her family is going to Magic Mountain, and she gets to bring a friend. But, when she picks up the phone to invite a friend, one after another, they say no. Then, Maya finds out the girls are having a party without her. One minute she is part of this group. The next minute she’s out. The intriguing part about this book is that the author goes into the head of each girl in the group, and the reader experiences the “friendship” experience from each point of view. It’s an interesting exploration into the head of the girl who is the leader and into the heads of those who follow. Everyone wants to fit in. Can the spell be broken? Ages 9-12 128 pages
