What everyone knows: There is a beautiful dollhouse that sits in Windsor Castle above the Thames River in England. It belonged to Queen Mary.

What everyone doesn't know: Twenty-five generations of the Whiskers family have lived in the storage drawers of that dollhouse for years.

One of those Whiskers is named Henry and his favorite room in the dollhouse is the library where he can curl up with a good book and let his imagination run free. But he has to be careful to remember to put his book back carefully on the bookshelf and disappear from view every morning when the Warden shows up to open the dollhouse for public viewing.

Henry Whiskers is a lucky mouse. He's part of a wonderful family of brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles and he has a very good best friend named Jeremy.

Turns out this is a very special time of year. It's almost the Queen's birthday and that means the all the mice will be getting ready for the Mouse Masquerade which is held each year in the dollhouse. Henry and Jeremy are sent off to do chores to help get things ready for the special night. The younger mice are playing hide and seek. Then, Henry hears his older sister calling him. His younger sister, Isabel, is missing and Henry needs to save the day.

Charming, filled with adventures and friendship, this is a gentle story with one scary cat, a gang of scary rats, some very scary humans and the power of the Golden Rule.
