The Cahill orphans Amy and Dan along with their au pair, Nellie, continue their adventure in the hunt for another clue toward the 39 clues. Their adventure takes them to China, where Dan gets lost and kidnapped in Beijing. Amy and Nellie visit the Great Wall of China in search of Dan and in the process discover a clue left by their grandmother Grace Cahill. The two finally find one another just in time to venture up to Mt. Everest for another clue. Again, family tries to stop them. The two realize that no matter what, they need to maintain their humanity toward others.
I highly recommend this book for Middle Readers and Older Readers. They will easily identify with the characters and the author keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. The book is told from a third-person narrator, which allows the reader to know many of the characters in a more thorough manner. Readers will want to continue reading the series.
