We need a whole, whole lotta funny books for kids right now and this is a great one.
There are some usual suspects involved here. Yes, there is a large, squishy cat who pretty much owns the territory with his best friend, Maggie. Squash is a lie in the sun sort of cat. Maggie is a shine bright in the spotlight sort of girl. Yep it's the old friends that are different thing.
And then... Pirate Lou shows up. How many of us remember Norman who swore he didn't do it. Well, Squash is about to have a lot in common with Norman because suddenly there isn't that much room in Maggie's bed every night. Someone is taking up more than his fair share.
With me so far? Like I said ... the usual suspects. Until...the genius Sasha Mayer kicks in and takes us through some fabulous hilarity, Soooo goood.
If it's one of those days, reach for this one. You need it. It needs you. Even if you're a dog person, or especially if you're a dog person, give yourself a treat. Read it ... maybe even twice.
