Just the words "peth, peth, peth" instantly take you outside to experience for yourself the gentle, steady falling of snow. The story itself revolves around a dog on the loose, squirrels, deer and children all creating tracks in the snow and coming in and out of the "music" with their individual reverberations. If I say, "jingle huff," can't you just hear the collar of the dog and his happy breath as he romps off? Onomatopeia abounds. Simple and fabulous. 40 pages
