The music of a snowy day is beautifully mirrored and sung for us in this magical, delightful picture book. The story is told through the pictures and the sounds. Just the words "peth, peth, peth" instantly take you outside to experience for yourself the gentle, steady falling of snow. The story itself revolves around a dog on the loose, squirrels, deer and children all creating tracks in the snow and coming in and out of the "music" with their individual reverberations. If I say, "jingle huff," can't you just hear the collar of the dog and his happy breath as he romps off? Onomatopeia abounds. Simple and fabulous. 40 pages
