Saul may be too short for the Navy, but once he is accepted into Pirate School his dream of working on the ocean looks possible. Saul doesn’t quite fit the image of a pirate and has difficulty finding a job and fitting in. Once hired, the little touches Saul brings to the Rusty Squid aren’t fully appreciated until after the captain forces Saul off the plank. As the ship’s stench and mold multiply and the crew complains about the cooking, the captain is persuaded to rescue Saul. Finally, the small pirate gets some respect! Treasure comes in different sizes and forms. Ages 4-8 32 pages
