Bunny Starch is a teacher you just don't mess with. That's why when 'Smoke' bites off the end of her pencil and walks out of the classroom, everyone is stunned. The next day the class goes to Black Vine Swamp on a field trip and suddenly there's a fire. Bunny Starch goes back into the Swamp to find a student's lost inhaler and she doesn't come back out. What has happened to her? Has 'Smoke' done something to her? Nick and Marta decide to find out for themselves. This is an environmental mystery with some interesting twists and turns.
