Rosie the hen sets out for a walk one fine day. Unbeknownst to her, a fox is following her, just waiting for his chance to get a tasty meal. His plans are foiled when Rosie leads him around the pond, over a haystack, under the beehives...
Hutchin's classic tale is a great resource for teaching young children the concept of positional words such as around, over, under, and through, to name a few. The children can draw their own farm, make their own Rosie and re-enact the story or create their own version.
